Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari says the country will step up the production of missile-launcher vessels for its naval fleet.

“All the equipment needed for the Navy, including missile-launcher vessels and communication devices, will be produced rapidly by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 20, 2012),” he said n Wednesday.

Speaking at a conference with the presence of the naval forces officers in the southern city of Sirjan, Sayyari said the naval forces are ready to produce all the needed equipment in the Year of National Production.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei named the current Iranian calendar year as the year of “National Production, Supporting Iranian Capital and Labor.”

Admiral Sayyari also referred to the success of indigenous super-heavy Tareq submarine despite the sanctions imposed against the country.

The Islamic Republic’s stance on the nuclear technology, regional independence and maritime security has turned the country's naval forces into an effective regional player, Sayyari concluded.
