What if God asked or led you to do something that no one else seems to be doing? What if he wanted you to make a radical stand that would leave you open to ridicule and possibly insults? Would you do it? Are you willing to be viewed or spoken of as different or someone who’s, “out there” if it was for the advancement of his Kingdom?
Lately, I’ve been pondering these questions. I long to obey God, but at the same time I find myself fighting the idea of being ridiculed by man. There’s something about ridicule that doesn’t “rub my fur” the right way. However, I’m realizing that as we walk with God we will discover he rarely asks us to do things simple or undercover. No, our God takes the high road, when He gives us an assignment it will always bring glory to him and whether we like it or not, it will also bring attention to us. Several times in the New Testament God led Jesus into towns and villages to heal or deliver people and when he finished he ask the people not to tell anyone. Unfortunately, by the time he got to the exit gate everyone knew what he had done, and the whole town was running behind him. Some went to be healed while others went to challenge his authority to heal; the second group was what I like to call “The Haters”.
No matter what you find yourself doing in life, if God has called or blessed you in any way, there are going to be haters, those who don’t want to see you advance or move forward in life. As believers we have to grow to the place where we don’t care about the “Nay Sayers” or those who speak against us we have been called and appointed by God. We don’t let the call go to our head, but it’s vital that we realize that we have great things to accomplish and we can’t be held back by the words, actions, or persuasions of others.
“ Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but to trust the LORD means safety.” Proverbs 29:25 states, NLT
In reality, I came to understand that we are going to be talked about whether we do it or not. So we might as well go ahead and obey God.
God bless you!

-- "Do not love the world or anything in the world... For everything in the world, the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has or does--comes not from the Father... The world and its desires pass away but the man who does the will of God lives forever."
I John 2:15-17
